Woke up this morning to a lovely surprise. I am a featured blogger on the Huffington Post and they’ve highlighted it on their front page! Woo Hoo! Hope y’all are having a great day too. Here’s wishing you get an equally lovely surprise. If you have time, please stop by the Huffington Post and if you are so inclined, leave me a comment. I will be forever grateful.

  • Congratulations. That is a dream come true. Headed there now.

    • Thanks. I’ve read your writing. It is a dream well within the realm of possibility for you! Send them a pitch. What’ve you got to lose?

  • Congratulations Debby. Just going over to have a look 🙂

    • So kind of you Judy! Happy Easter. Have a wonderful day. Looking forward to seeing your next set of photos!

  • Hi there! Big congrats! :))

I just left a long comment & shameless question over at your Huffington Post blog – I hope you don’t mind! 🙂 I tweeted your article, liked it on Facebook & used the Pinterest feature even though I don’t use Pinterest much! 😉 Here’s what I wrote:

Hi Deborah! I LOVE this post becaue I was very, very close with my amazing Grandmother. She was truly a “fly”, extraordinary, active grandmother! Granny, a 6th grade teacher in Harlem, mentored her student Charles Rangel who became a Congressman and the first African American Chairman of the Ways and Means Committee.Granny put me through college with her savings, and she volunteered after she retired as an ESL teacher & took care of her own Mom! Granny took the bus everywhere and lived alone after her mom passed away. I miss her so.

On a separate note, congrats on being a Featured Blogger! I just had the same experience last week with my debut HuffPost piece & I’d be so grateful to you if you could take a look at my article (the first mainstream piece of its kind) and perhaps comment. I promoted your post to my Twitter followers and Pinterest & Facebook too.. I found out about you through my friend the writer Allison Strong. take care and once again , congratulations!

    • Your Granny left an extraordinary legacy. What a wonderful woman of exemplary substance! Coincidentally, I did see your piece featured on HuffPo last week (we’re both having huge weeks, aren’t we?) and left a comment as I thought it was outstanding and important. But, I’m going to head back over there and share it even more widely. Thanks so much for taking the time to check out my piece and to leave this detailed comment. I loved “virtually” meeting your grand Granny!

  • I remember being 47 and keeping track of symptoms on a calendar: H for headache, D for depression. There was probably an L, but I don’t know what it stood for. With any luck you will be over and done with it all, as I was, at age 51. Congrats on the Huffposting!

  • What an honor! Congratulations!

  • Yay! Congratulations!

  • How awesome! Well done!

  • Mazel Tov! That is a blogger’s dream? Where next, DIsney World!
Whoot ! Whoot ! Kudos and congrats!

    • Thanks so very much! Disney? Perhaps, but I hear the Riviera is lovely this time of year!

  • Congratulations my friend for getting on Huff! It was a fabulous post and of course I’m sharing around town! It takes someone like you to get those old thinking misconceptions out of stereotyping our generation which is NOTHING like the last!! 🙂

    • Thanks. It was a lot of fun for a day! And, you are so right. We are setting some new standards for aging and cheers to that!

      • Yup. It was time for new standards and who better to set them? 🙂

      • 🙂 I just noticed that I don’t receive replies to my comments I leave you. That is strange, and why I came back to this post to see if I was missing something. So please forgive me if I leave a comment and you reply to it, I don’t receive them.:(
